This year’s Book Week theme, Book an Adventure, inspired our students to dive into the magic of reading.
The Alexandria Resource Centre was buzzing with excitement as students celebrated stories in fun and interactive ways.
Throughout the week, students created magnetic bookmarks, showcasing their creativity while making something practical to keep their place in their next great read.
We also hosted a lively Book Week Kahoot quiz, where students tested their literary knowledge and enjoyed some friendly competition.
One of the highlights of the week was the Write a Book in a Day challenge. We are thrilled to share that more than 70 students participated, working collaboratively to plan, write, and illustrate original stories – all in just one day! Click here to read more about this fantastic event.
These incredible efforts not only showcased their imagination but also supported a great cause.
We also ran two exciting competitions.
Congratulations to Year 11 Melton student Ciara who won the poetry competition with her creative pirate-themed poem.
Well done also to Year 9 Melton student Krisha whose stunning digital bookmark design took out the top spot in the bookmark competition.
Year 7 Cobblebank student Mamie’s poem also earned her a prize. You can read it here.
