Learning and Teaching

Last Friday, our teachers took part in a Professional Learning Day with a strong focus on learning and teaching.

These days are an important investment in ensuring every student at our school continues to receive the highest quality education.

The time together gave staff the chance to collaborate across campuses, share ideas, and develop new strategies to strengthen learning in every classroom.

Most importantly, the work completed will directly support student progress and wellbeing by ensuring teaching is engaging, responsive, and targeted to student needs.

Some of the key areas our teachers focused on included:

  • planning for the new Victorian Curriculum 2.0, ensuring our students are well-prepared for future learning
  • creating and refining lessons on the Simon platform, making resources more engaging and accessible
  • developing unit plans that integrate numeracy and align with our instructional model, including the use of mini whiteboards to boost student participation
  • using NAPLAN data to identify areas of need and strengthen literacy and numeracy outcomes
  • preparing adjusted lessons and assessments so all students can access and succeed in their learning
  • designing VCE revision resources and practice exams to support our senior students in achieving their best
  • compiling future book and resource lists to continue building rich learning opportunities in the years ahead.

We are proud of the commitment our staff show to continually growing their practice.

Days like this mean that every student benefits from teaching that is well-planned, evidence-based, and tailored to their needs.
